Rafting on the Trishuli, Poon Hill sunrise, Pokhara city tour and paragliding in one 7-day circuit
This is the best all-round Nepal adventure you can fit into a week. The package starts in Kathmandu with a white-water rafting trip down the Trishuli River on the way to Pokhara, one of the most exciting ways to travel between Nepal's two main cities. From Pokhara the itinerary heads straight up to the Ghorepani Poon Hill trail for three days of Himalayan trekking through Gurung villages and rhododendron forest, finishing with the famous predawn hike to Poon Hill at 3,210m for sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The final morning in Pokhara ends with a tandem paragliding flight from Sarangkot, widely rated as one of the finest paragliding sites in the world, soaring above Phewa Lake with the Annapurna range behind. A compact, high-impact trip that gives first-timers the best of what Nepal does.
Depart Kathmandu early and drive to the Trishuli River put-in. After a safety briefing, spend approximately 3 hours on Grade III to IV rapids with a riverside lunch included. Continue the scenic drive to Pokhara. Evening at leisure on the lakeside.
Boat ride on Phewa Lake to the Barahi Temple island. Visit Davis Falls and the connected Gupteshwor Cave directly below. Explore the Bindhyabasini Temple and the Seti River Gorge. Afternoon hike to the World Peace Pagoda for panoramic views of the lake and Annapurna range. Evening free on the lakeside.
