Ten days through Bangkok, Koh Samui and the southern islands with snorkelling, kayaking and the Ang Thong Marine Park
This ten-day journey starts in Bangkok for a day of temples and street food before moving south to the Gulf of Thailand. The islands on this coast are less crowded than the Andaman Sea resorts and reward travellers who want clear water, coral reefs and good food without the backpacker density. Koh Samui is the base for a full-day boat trip through the Ang Thong Marine Park, a protected archipelago of 42 islands with hidden lagoons, emerald green water and limestone cliffs. Koh Tao follows for two nights of diving or snorkelling above some of Thailand's richest coral. The pace is relaxed, the water is warm and the sunsets on the Gulf do not disappoint. A strong beach extension to the Thailand Real Food Adventure or a complete standalone holiday for those who want sun, sea and Thai food.
