Eight days eating through Bangkok, Ayutthaya and Chiang Mai with a local food expert from street stalls to family homes
Thai food is one of the most complex and rewarding cuisines in the world and this eight-day journey is built entirely around experiencing it where it actually lives, on the streets. Starting in Bangkok, the itinerary covers the floating market at Tha Kha by paddleboat, the ancient ruins at Ayutthaya, an overnight sleeper train north to Chiang Mai and a home-cooking session with a Thai family in the hills outside the city. A khan tok feast, a palm sugar demonstration in a rural village and lunch with the locals at an open-air noodle hall round out a trip that is as much about the people as the food. One of Intrepid's most reviewed Asia packages globally.
